Moral Degradation of Young Generation
At present Moral Degradation of young generation is a great concern for the whole world. Generally, morality means honesty of character, fairness in attitude, absence of evils like hatred, jealously, greed, telling lies, etc. It plays a vital role in our day to day life. However, these moral values are slowly diminishing over the years, as most of the younger generations are gradually disregarding these ethics. In the past, moral values and graciousness were prominent in most teenagers. Majority of the youths then learnt respect, courtesy, consideration, decency, propriety, honesty and righteousness from a young age. But today most of our young generations spend more time on their phone, gossiping, operating Facebookand whats app than with their elders, who used to teach them good values. They discuss about big issues like corruption, politics, relation, boyfriend, girlfriend, Bulgar scene but they themselves have no time for the guests, for celebrating the festival in real sense, for respecting their older grandparents. The agencies of education like family, school, club, church and society etc. play an important role to calculate moral values among the future generation. But unfortunately due to several social and economic factors, many families are disoriented, disorganized and confused and therefore have failed woefully to play this vital role. Moreover, creative minds of young generation are diverted towards unsocial activities like smoking in public place, misbehaving in class, drug addiction, misconduct in the household and juvenile delinquency, making illegal relation etc. So, moral value is very essential in these days for the development of youth. Education based on moral values develops the outlook the students by providing a new direction to their thinking which brings consciousness and awakening in them. Thus, this education prepares them to sacrifice their personal interest for the welfare of the society. Besides, parents should be more conscious to teach their children religious education as well as morality in their childhood. Similarly, by imparting lessons on moral values to the students their instincts, emotions and sexual urges can be controlled. This leads to the developments of both the individual and society.
